Upcoming 2008 Spring/Summer release is nearly upon us!
The Spring/Summer release is currently scheduled for July 19, 2008. So, we are working hard to get the final blends prepared for the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon blends, the Saralee's Marsanne/Roussanne/Viognier blend and the final adjustments for the Westerly Roussanne. The wines are look and taste great! I think you will be quite happy with the wines being released. The 2006 Santa Barbara County Syrah has been in bottle for 6 weeks now but will need another 3 months before it is really well integrated.
There will be a release party on July 19, 2008 at Crushpad (2573 3rd Street, San Francisco, CA, 94107 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM)! If you would like to pick up your pre-release order at the party, please let me know so I can have the orders on hand.
The wines being released are:
- 2006 Syrah, Santa Barbara County ($41 retail, $32.80 pre-release)
- 2007 The Angel's Share, Marsanne/Rousanne/Viognier blend, Saralee's vineyard, Russian River Valley ($33 retail, $26.40 pre-release)
- 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley ($55 retail, $44.00 pre-release)
- 2006 Roaring Red - propietary red wine blend ($35 retail, $28 pre-release)
- 2007 Westerly Vineyard, Roussanne, Santa Barbara County ($30 retail, $24 pre-release)
Some vineyards have been hit by the recent frosts
The vineyards we are sourcing fruit from this year have been thankfully spared by the last spring frosts. However, the Bohemian Vineyard in the Russian River Valley/Sonoma Coast area did get hit fairly hard (50% loss), so our planned expanded production has been get constant at 50 cases of the Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. If you have had a barrel sample of the 2007 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, you know what a shame this is!
