2007 Roaring Red, Propriety Blend, California
This wine is a delicious blend of Ray Teldeschi's vineyard Syrah, Dry Creek Valley (55%), Napa Valley and Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon (23%), Napa Valley Malbec (9%), Contra Costa County Mourvedre (6%), Napa Valley Petite Verdot (5%) and Napa Valley Merlot (2%). The wine is a bold, highly approachable, easily paired, ready-to-drink, fruity blended wine from Northern California. It has opaque ruby color; intensity aromas of plum, black cherry, cassis, tobacco, fruitcake, and cigar box; the mouth-coating, concentrated, layered flavors build on the aromas with a long-lasting pomegranate and orange peel finish over soft, chewy tannins.
Leon recommends this wine with lamb stew, braised beef ribs, beef bourguignon, and wild boar. It is ready to drink now and will age for 3 to 6 years.
